Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Lead multiple on-site locations; responsible for the oversight of all fleet and planning operations. Direct operations personnel within the Intermodal framework to ensure optimal productivity. Responsible for implementation and adherence of Intermodal processes/procedures to maximize efficiencies and reach desired outcomes.
- Oversee all operations at all assigned on-site locations and designated planning region(s) . including P/L, accurate reporting of assets and activity.
- Manage, lead and develop assigned employees to establish and build a team environment.
- Develop and train employees by setting skills training objectives and ensure conformity of processes and data integrity.
- Partner with Shop leadership to direct shop operations, providing insight and recommendations as business needs drive operation changes.
- Ensure appropriate procedures are in place and adhered to, relating to the security of the on-site location.
- Serve as an on-site daily extension of sales to expand business revenue by exploring all dedicated, rail and logistics opportunities with customers.
- Generate appropriate reports regarding service, OS&D, accessorial, to assist in evaluating cost factors associated with business.
- Ensure alignment of planning in compliance with customer capacity and service commitments through utilization of network balance data.
- Partner with network leaders to forecast planning region market needs and proactively review current capacity to determine appropriate adjustments in order to provide optimal planning opportunities.
- Coordinate network needs/opportunities with corporate network team and identify capacity repositioning opportunities; communicate necessary changes to designated department personnel.
- Align and prioritize customer shipments using Average Daily Volume (ADV) and customer score in combination with available Sales/Network input.
- Monitor outbound freight within designated planning center and act as 'Service Champion' to identify service issues.
- Monitor customers' container pools and coordinate day-to-day container reposition moves in order to maximize customer capacity.
- Oversee training of decision support tools (i.e. MicroMap, Critical pull, Cubes, SIS and Opti-Net).
- Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring
- 5+ years combined leadership and operations experience required.
- Transportation experience preferred.
- Bilingual experience preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate solid judgment and discretion while creating solutions and provide problem resolution to complex issues/circumstances.
- Must be able to lead, influence and motivate employees at all levels in a cross functional, diverse and changing environment.
- Must possess exceptional interpersonal, decision making and analytical abilities with a creative approach to problem solving.
- Must have strong decision making skills with and able to negotiate effectively.
- Must be experienced in preparing and delivering compelling arguments and presentations in a way that impacts and influences others and successfully builds coalitions for key initiatives.
- Bachelors in related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
